Description

PMN-PT (Lead Magnesium Niobate-Lead Titanate) single crystals are advanced piezoelectric materials exhibiting exceptional electromechanical coupling coefficients, high dielectric constants, large piezoelectric coefficients, and outstanding strain responses.

Due to their superior performance compared to traditional piezoelectric ceramics (such as PZT), PMN-PT crystals are widely used in next-generation sensors, actuators, ultrasonic transducers, medical imaging devices, and adaptive optics.

Our PMN-PT crystals are available with customizable orientations, doping, and cutting options to meet specific performance needs in high-end applications across aerospace, medical, and industrial fields.

Crystal Structure and Orientation:

  • Chemical Formula: (1-x)Pb(Mg₁/₃Nb₂/₃)O₃–xPbTiO₃
  • Crystal System: Perovskite, rhombohedral or tetragonal (depending on composition and temperature)
  • Typical Transparency Range: 500 nm – 5000 nm (varies with thickness)
  • Curie Temperature: ~130–160°C (depending on composition)
  • Density: 8.1 g/cm³
  • Dielectric Constant (1 kHz): Up to 5000
  • Piezoelectric Constant (d₃₃): > 1500 pC/N (extremely high)
  • Available Orientations:
    • <001>-oriented: For maximum longitudinal piezoelectric performance
    • <011>-oriented: For shear-mode applications
    • <111>-oriented: For isotropic responses
    • Custom crystallographic orientations available upon request
