Description
Magnesium Fluoride (MgF₂) crystal is a high-performance optical single crystal widely used in ultraviolet (UV), visible, and infrared optical systems due to its exceptionally broad transmission range, excellent birefringence, high laser damage threshold, and superior environmental stability. MgF₂ crystals exhibit excellent transmission from the vacuum ultraviolet (VUV) to mid-infrared region, making them ideal for UV optics, excimer lasers, infrared spectroscopy, laser systems, and polarization optics.
As a naturally birefringent crystal, MgF₂ is extensively used for polarizers, waveplates, birefringent prisms, vacuum UV windows, and laser optical components. Its excellent mechanical strength, thermal stability, and moisture resistance make it highly reliable for demanding industrial, aerospace, and scientific applications.
